jet pump

HI,
I am new to this. I have a 2hp Goulds jet pump for a sprinkler system. My low pressure is set at 40 and high pressure is set at 40. The problem is the pump clicks off after reaching 60...the the pressure goes down to 40 and it clicks back on....it clicks of and on about once every thirty seconds. How do I get the pump to keep running without clicking on and off so much?

I think you meant to say the switch is adjusted to on at 40 off at 60.

If you don't want the pump to go off while the spriklers are running, adjust the switch to 40/70 or 75 or 80 by tightening the short screw's nut and that will allow the pump to run as long as the sprinklers don't allow the pump to get to 80.
