Plumber buddy of mine called me to ID a toilet. Inside the tank, the water fills up a tray just below the lid. The lid tilts and dumps water into the tank, which in turn fills the bowl. There is no company manufacturer name that he could see. Personally, I haven't encountered such a beast. Hope you can help.

Niagara Flapperless

These used to be made in the US. Now they make them in China.
I quit selling them after that.
I had problems with the plastic trays and the plastic handles.
As a contractor, I can't sell something that creates that much work.

they've been used quite extensively in larger apartment buildings etc. because they save water (no flapper leakage) and they don't require the same maintenance level (flapper replacement).

I;ve got one installed in my house - they're not bad, but it sometimes takes a couple of "troughs" to completely flush.

Or I sometimes hear that the trays stick against the inside if the tank when tipped, and they keep filling. That's mostly from renters that don't think to bring the handle back up.
