I have a delta shower faucet (just shower, no tub spout) and it is leaking out of the shower head. I opened up the ball valve and the seals don't seem to match the standard spring and seal in the repair kit that I bought. Delta doesn't show any diagrams that have a ball valve for the shower faucets only the cartridge style. Does any one know if the valves were different back then or if it's just so built up with deposits I can't see the spring?

Thanks

Yes in older Delta's they used a taller seat with a straight spring. That had to be somewhere in the 70's or, 80's when they switched...

They are still available listed as a part for older Delta's and Peerless faucets.

The valves after the ones that used the tall washers, also used a ball but had the modern short washers and conical springs. IF you have not gotten to the point where you have removed the cap, do it gently or you will break the faucet and have to install a new one.
