Water won't come back on after turning main water shut off back on.

Good evening.

My husband and I are trying to replace a wall-mount sink. We turned off the main water to replace the sink shut-off valve, and now, after turning the main water back on, we still don't have any water in the house. What could cause this? How do we fix it? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like you used the old gate valve for the last time!
You will need the water company to turn off the water at the curb stop and call a plumber to replace the old valve with a 1/4 turn ball valve.
