The striker spring in my tub drain assembly is broken. Believe it is a Kohler, but may be American Standard. I have checked with all local (Easton, MD) hardware and plumbing supply houses for a replacement part but with no success. And so far I have been unable to find a source on the internet. Any suggested sources??

spring

What do you mean by "broken"? It is simply a coiled section of rod at the end of a 2 piece jointed straight section which then attaches to the trip lever on the overflow plate.

Broken, as in the bottom half of the the coil spring is missing. This spring attaches to the bottom of a length-adjuster-link, which then is connected to the long link rod reaching up the overflow tube to the drain lever mechanism.

Do you know what happened to the rest of the spring? That piece is generic so any trip waste lower link will work, Price Pfister, Delta, Moen, etc.
