Exclamation 5...4...3...2...1...0...we have ignition & liftoff!

I saw this on another forum a little while ago and decided to share it here.
A nice little visual on a water heater with a problem.
Obviously a thermostat and T&P valve malfunction.

The disturbing thing...his homeowners insurance might not cover it.

Well worth saving the money for a plumber.

Why anyone not licenced would play around with gas is beyond me.
I leave gas and fuse panels to the pro's too many things can kill you why take the chance to save a couple of bucks.

I don't believe this one was gas - the relief valve had been blocked. There were a number of conflicting statements at different news stations. Looking at the top of the heater, it's difficult to tell if it was gas or electric, but it wasn't a gas explosion so far as I can tell.
