ive had the same sprinkler system for 15 years and about a year ago i started getting problems.

toro valves
hunter controller
6 zones

when i run the sprinklers after about 5 mins my well circuit trips. i called a sprinkler guy in he said we need all new valves and new wiring..so thats what i did and the problem is still here.

the other week my well pump just died and now there is a new well pump in there. the only thing i havent replaced is the controller and im going to try that tonight. i dont think that will fix anything but who knows..anyone else have any suggestions of what i could do to fix this? thanks

Sprinklers just flow water. The pump is tripping on its own, possibly from running dry. Water levels in wells can and do get lower.

pump

You have a pump problem, which may have nothing to do with the irrigation valves or controller. FIND OUT what the problem is before you start guessing at the cause and start replacing things willy nilly.

wiring issues

I know when a sprinkler valve shorts sometimes the irrigation clock will simply stop working. Does this happen on a certain zone? if so there could be a short somewhere. Look at the valve wiring and if the wires are all corroded then clean those up. Use dry spice and dont use wire nuts. The rust will short out the valves. This is only just some advise. As far as the sprinkler guy telling you to get a new system, time look for another contractor.
