hi my bladder tank has stopped working properly. pump is cycling with water off every two minutes or so..i now am looking to replace the tank, and i found a good deal on a amatrol wx202.

my question is.... my old tank was a short fat 30 gal tank and the wx 202 is a 40 gal taller tank. Can i lay this tank on its side or top. will it work properly. or can i move the tank to a different level... say under the pump about 1 foot, and still have the tank work effectively.. after reading i see where the tanks actually fills up with water. if it is on its side i guessing it wont do this properly. i think i already have my answer but i got this tank and pump for 40 bucks and would love to use it without removing pump, water tank ,and bladder tank... and lowering the shelf and reinstalling all the components.
in fact ive lived in the house for 10 years and have never had a problem with anything untill the baldder tank broke.
im new with the pump and tank, had city water most of my life and im learning as i go.
thanks bill:rolleyes::rolleyes:

If you lay the tank on its side it will probably work but the bladder will be distorted at the interface between the water and the air. That is because there will be a small variation in pressure on the water side and virtually no difference in pressure on the air side. It could affect life of the bladder.

It should work fine if upside down until the bladder fails. Then the air will all escape from the tank rather quickly.

Its elevation above or below the pump doesn't matter. And it can be located some distance away with no problem.

The WX202 is a 20 gallon tank that only holds 5 gallons of water. You are going down in tank size, and that will cause more cycling for the pump.

However, those style tanks can lay on their sides. I have buried a bunch of them this way. Some other brands won't work this way. It is better is it is stood upright or at least at a 45 degree angle but, it will work OK on it's side.
