I replaced a tub with a new shower. I plumbed shut-off valves on each side of mixing valve. When I open the shut off valves, the hot water at my kitchen sink turns cold. The showers supply lines are teed off the supply lines within 18"-24" of the hot water tank. Any ideas?

What shower valve do you have? Some can create a cross-over condition.

Did you know that the Delta 1700 series without the cartridge installed yet is the leading cause of hot/cold crossover connections lately? Welcome to the club!
