I am replacing an old toilet that had a elevated (separate) cistern, and the bowl is less than 12" rough in from the wall.

1. Does it make sense that the old bowl (for the elevated cistern) is less than 12" rough in?

2. Are there any differences or things to watch out for when installing a 10" rough in toilet?

Thanks.

Many new toilets will work at 11" or 11-1/4"

Most 10" toilets use the same bowl, and a thinner tank.
Installation is the same.

Unless you are using something with a Unfit, then it's the same as using a 12" Unifit, but with a 10"
