Hi Folks:
On this new installation of a TOTO Nexus tank, the flopper does not stay up to allow the tank to empty. The chain is tight so as to lift the flopper up high. Any help would be appreciated.

Modern toilets rarely empty the tank. If the chain is too tight it won't seal. If it is too loose, you won't pull it up for a full stroke, and it can get caught under the flapper, preventing it from sealing.

Modern toilets typically flush VERY fast, and do not empty the tank.

How does it flush? It's probably working fine...give it a workout.

Dear Mr. DeBruycker:
Thank you for your quick response. As a follow-up: we checked the chain and found its tension to be optimum (not too loose, just enough play to allow the flopper to seal) and re-checked the flopper's response to user's activation of the handle: the flopper drops immediately in response to letting go of the handle rather than staying up for any period of time to let water flush.
In addition, for a while longer after the tank re-fills, there continues to be an audible trickle that eventually stops.
Thanks again for your help.
