    Default flexible metal conduit/greenfield

After cutting the flexible conduit to length then putting the wire to be used in it - Is there not something they make that protects the wire from that raw cut edge of the conduit..? (a protective plastic type bushing insert,a grommet, maybe a fitting that has a protective type insert etc..) The romex cable to be used is 10/2 (hooking up a water heater)
    Much appreciated to all!

Surely you cleaned up all the rough edges

    348.28 Trimming.
All cut ends shall be trimmed or otherwise finished to remove rough edges, except where fittings that thread into the convolutions are used.

    You could use a redhead.

The NEMA guidelines for installation of flexible metal conduit are available at:

He is using it to protect a cable from damage so the rules for installing the flex do not apply.

If he wanted he could use a peice of water hose. It is being installed simply for protection.
