My American standard compact EL has started making a trickling sound where it only flows water into the overflow tube and not into the tank.
If I press the plunger down so that full water flow occurs then the tank fills that last little bit and then shuts off when I release the float.
I'm tempted to disconnect the water supply and run white vinegar threw it like I do on other items like faucets, but I'm not sure if that would help.
Another thought I had would be to raise the tube that flows water into the overflow pipe higher so that it would not get water when the valve is only trickling.
This would be the forth modification I've had to make on this #%*&
Edit: Update: It started working again...
