I am in the midst of a bathroom remodel and my wife finally found all of the fixtures to her liking. 1 problem, we have a shower stall and separate garden tub, the shower fixture she is set on has a tub spout I do not need. Can I cap the line from the diverter valve that should run to the tub spout and only use the output for the shower head?

Any help would be much appreciated before I open this thing up and cause myself more headaches.

Thanks
