Hi, I will be sweating a new copper 1/2" line. I have seen in HD pre-tinned copper joints, I like that idea. My question is do I have to apply flux to the pre-tinned area or do I skip that??? Any other suggestions working with pre-tinned copper??

Thanks!! Rich:)

Do you mean pre soldered???

When soldering copper you always need flux.

There is Otey #95 tinning flux...is that what your talking about.

I thought that they discontinued those pre soldered fittings.

I think you're right about inventory close out. HD in my town sold there stock out some time ago. It was a gimmick that didn't fly very far. And to echo everyone else, yes, you must use flux and clean the pipe end with emery cloth, sand paper, or a brush just prior to fluxing.

I think that Rugged mentioned that he found a ton of them
somewhere and bought them all up

Cass.....you really need to get rid of that Patriots helmet

I was the one who bought a ton of the fittings.

as far as the avatar...I can see that smile on your face all the way from here.
