I need to connect a new 4" PVC waste line for a new bathroom to an existing 4" PVC main line that runs to the street. Both lines will be subslab in the basement (currently dirt floor) and intersect at 90 degrees. What is the best way to tie into the existing? I planned to use a 45 degree bend into a wye. To do this I assume I would use a fernco coupling at both ends of the wye that tie into the exisiting pipe and would have to cement a short piece of pipe into each end of the wye to make the coupling work. Make sense?
