I seem to have a water hammer problem on a house I just bought. All the plumbing has been updated with ½ inch copper supply. I do not have a check valve or a PRV on the supply. The city pressure is quite strong though. I did not put a gage on it just yet but the faucets have great force. Can the city water pressure cause water hammer. I turned off the HW tank to rule out thermal expansion. What would be considered a high psi for the incoming water pressure. I will be checking this tonight.
