Hi Guys :)

We just removed a rear discharge toilet that's been leaking for enough years to rot the wood etc.

I just purchased a Zurn gasket with sealant, but it's too small (to make a good connection at the wall flange).

Anyone have any suggestions that will create a failsafe water tight connection. Unfortunately the this unit sits on the floor and will have to be tiled in.

Thanks in advance.

They do make wax seals that are for wall connections. It should state that on the box.

When you say,

"Tiled in"

What do you mean?
Normally, the wall or floor, or both are tiled, and the toilet bowl sets on the tile.

Hi Terry :)

I'm aware of how it's supposed to be installed. Unfortunately the floor has been previously installed over several layers of wood underlayment over two layers of tongue and groove slats. My client already installed vanities and partition walls over the existing floor and tile.

We removed the mosaic and replace any bad wood, but by the time we put on our isolation membrane for the marble (Ditra), we are out of room to raise the toilet any higher. To further complicate things, this wall hung backs up to another wall hung in another unit, so the flange can't be raised.

Bottom line we have to install the toilet on the Ditra, and marble up to the toilet.

What kind of shape is the wal flange in?

Kind of pins you in, but that's the situation I guess.
The wall mount wax is made a bit different.
I hope that works out okay for you.

seal

I would use a neoprene sponge rubber gasket.

I forgot about those, they are bigger than the Zurn washers.
That would be better than wax.
