I am in need of help finding stems for this contraption...

Hello,

I have two stems that are not equal in length. They work, but the stems are bent which makes the knobs rotate in an egg shaped pattern. I have considered replacing all of this, however I would prefer to just replace the thread in assemblies and knobs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Took me 2hrs to remove one from my mothers house.I also would like see the
other side.BTW you will not find stems for it.

Expensive... The tub spout is not allowed to to be under the flood rim of the tub as it is now. The indirect drain phew! Its time to remodel. On the other hand for a price New York Replacement Parts will custom machine a stem... Is it worth it?

What would I need to do in order to have New York Replacement Parts machine the replacement stem? Can I not replace the entire assembly and thread it in, stem, housing and all? I have unscrewed the stem and housing from the "horseshoe" shaped brass/bronze thing in the picture. The seals appear to be in bad shape, and the "cup" that holds the seal is fractured. I just doped them up with some grease and torqued them back in to keep them from leaking. There is no shut off valve, so I have to kill the water to the entire house when working on it.

Cost is not an issue, time is the issue. What would be the quickest way to get this fixed?

Call a bathroom remodeler! Basically so much of that set up is tied together replacing the tub, drain and valve is what you are looking at minimum. As far as replacement stems being custom made I would contact NYRP monday am.

I probably have those stems somewhere...

We have cut out dozens of those old dogs over the years....
they are on a 12 or 16 inch spread and
have replaced them with a normal Delta tub faucet....

Its a mean, mean project worth about about a grand
to change the faucet and the tub drain too....

I dont even know if a grand is enough money..

I would not fool around too much with that , if you are wise....
or you might have to shut the house down....

it probably has Poreceline escuption plates on the tub wall
and porceline cross handles too...

which you will never find.except in a junk yard.
or buried in some old plumbing supply house.......

that guy has stuff laying around since WW1

send him a picture of the actual stem and he will most likely
have the part laying in the back room somewhere....

I know this because we used to
give him the cross handles all the time...
