Your natural gas provider doesn't handle everything upstream of the gas meter? I find that rather odd, safety being so important, and all.

Oddly I think we are getting ripped off. They give us a curb stop off the main and the home owner pays for everything from there in, by private contractor.

That company has service in Ohio and parts of MD, as well as Pa. what happens in ohio, I know there are people here that work in Ohio.

So Cal Gas owns everything up to the meter, so that includes the service to their meter, if the meter is at the house, then they own their service pipe from the street, if the meter is in a box at the curb, then they only own whats in the street to their side of the meter.

The customer is responsible for everything on the right side of the meter and all the supply pipe to their fixtures.
