I would like to move the toilet over about 3 inches to the side. We are on a crawl space and have access to the plumbing. I found an offset flange at Lowes that I was going to use, but after reading this forum it is not clear if I should use that for moving the toilet sideways. The current flange is attached to a pvc pipe that goes down about 3 feet and attaches to another pipe. There is not a closet bend there now.

1. Is it necessary to have a closet bend, or can the flange attach directly to the pvc drain like it is now?

2. Is it okay to use the offset flange to move the toilet sideways?

3. Would it be better to move the toilet sideways by using a couple of 45 degree elbows.

THANKS
