Reviving this so I don’t start a new thread.
I’m installing a hot tub out door, right next to the house. Spa Manual calls for 50amp 240 circuit and to use 6ga for power conductors and 8gauge for ground. Problem is that romex or UF comes with 10 gauge for ground. According to wire size calculator for ground wire a 10gauge wire is good for 50 amp circuit.
Reason I wanted to use romex was that most of the run is indoor and the circuit disconnect will be attach to the vinyl outside the house- so pretty much the whole wire run is indoor. With romex I don’t need conduit indoor. Anybody knows why the recommend an 8ga for ground ??
If I was to use separate thhn wire I would have to place it in conduit indoor.
