Best way to drill a circular hole on culture marble.

Hi, I am wondering whats the best way to drill a half dollar size hole on culture marble? I have read that the best way is to use a holesaw and drill from the finished side. is this true? please help....

Definetly.

If you have a drill press it will make the hole much cleaner.

If you really don't want to slip...

1. Use a drill bit the same size as the the hole saw's bit to start.

2. Use the hole saw and spin the drill in REVERSE-to start the cut. You just want to break the surface. This keeps the blades from grabbing and messing up the your new surface.

3. Put the drill in forward- Drill away.

I usually stop just before I'm through-and hit the other side to finish it off. This save a LOT of time trying to get the cut piece out of the hole saw.
