Hi,

Two questions.

1) Can I install two switches on a Zoeller M53? One that the unit comes with and a second as a backup in the event the first one fails.

2) Why do some Simer sump pumps have two power cords?

Thanks.

The second cord is not a power cord, it's a piggyback float switch.

You couldn't use two switches because if the first one failed, there would be no path for the current to flow to the second one.

Thanks Bob.

So this piggyback float switch, is it the primary float switch?

Thanks,
