I have replaced many of them without "ripping out the ABS", but you can remove that ring and then install a two piece replacement that "bolts" in its place around the existing ABS pipe.

The metal ring which is surrounds the ABS pipe and to which the toilet is attached is rusted out and the left side toilet bolt cannot be tightened.
Any way to fix without ripping out the ABS?

Thanks for response hcj. Will see if I can find a split ring.
Any suggestion about getting the old ring out and off the ABS.
One thought was a dremel tool with ginding wheel and grind through the ring on both sides to split it.
One side and twist it off.
You could also use a repair flange over the existing one.
