Submersible Pump

What is most reliable - a float switch or a vertical switch for an automatic submersible pump - like a sump pump?

that is about the most relible one you can buy
for about 30 bucks... Here is a pic on one on my
own variatioin of a Zoeller pump...I buy my zoellers without a switch
and add the vertical master onto the pipe.....

This little beauty will probably last a life time...
