Hi all,

I am considering replacing a tub in my basement bathroom, it is in an alcove, and I was wondering what the odds where, that I could find a tub, that would line up with the existing drain and overflow? What say you guys?

Thanks

I'd have to say it's about %99 unlikely that you would find a new model tub to match the installation specs of your old tub.

drain

Given that it would have to be in the correct location from the back wall, the side wall, and also the proper height above or below the floor, almost no chance at all.

Thanks for your input guys, one other question, what size pipes are normally connected to an old iron drum trap for a bath tub?

With new tubs, you install new waste and overflows.
You should also pull out the drum trap and replace with a new standard trap.

Most piping for tubs is 1-1/2"
