The ice maker has quit on me. The fridge is only 6 years old. I have working water, etc. but no rotation on the ice maker. I noticed in the past several thuds/pops during the ice making cycle, always thought and was told this was normal.
I noticed a light brown liquid that seeped out of the ice maker that ran down the freezer wall. Assuming this is some kind of oil/lubricant.
My father insists that you can buy a ice maker repair kit, but never seen it or heard of it.
1. Is it worth finding parts?
2. Can I buy a ice maker assembly and change it out?
3. Or do I need to call a repair service?
The other day, I posted a thread about a drain problem on my dishwasher, I guess these problems come in two's..
thanks,
Chris
