Hello,

I have been using a 1/2 hp Flint and Walling shallow well jet pump. Outside of a priming problem I encountered this last week. (I found the leaking joint on the vacuum side) it has worked fine.

Just wondering what performance differences I would have with a 3/4 HP pump. The particulars of my set up are:

1 1/4 pipe; static water height at 19 feet; well point depth 31'; 12 feet of water in pipe; utilize bladder tank set at 35 psi; cut in on pressure switch 40 psi and cut out at 60 psi.

Would welcome any thoughts and recommendations.

Thanks!

You will not notice much at all. The big jump in actual horsepower takes place between 3/4hp and 1hp in most cases. The only difference you will notice is a little higher pressure while using water with the pump running.
