Needed some advice on where to run two drain lines...

I have two choices on where to run the lines:
1. sump hole/sump pump (which discharges to city storm drain)
2. slop sink (which discharges to septic)

Where should I run the drain line for my water softener?

Where should I run the drain line for my washing machine?

Thanks for the help.

Not sure about the water softener.

For the laundry I think you may have to check with the city.

The Feds and city will not be happy if you run anything except groundwater into the storm sewer. The feds have mandated that the storm sewers and sewage drains be separated. You would likely be subject to a major fine if they ever found out. Not sure about the water softener, but it may be in the same category as the washing machine.

In my state, it's ok to discharge a laundry into a slop sink....NOT a storm drain.
I doubt you could do that in any state.
