I have a dug well that is brick-lined. It is 3 ft in diameter and about 25 feet deep. A pipe runs down into the water and into the house to a pump. I have lived here three yearsand this is my 4th pump...and now it is acting up! It is coming on every 45 - 50 secs... without any water being used. When it comes on, it is only on for a second or two. The pump is getting really hot. Any suggestions? PLEASE HELP... need to know what is causing this and what i can do to fix it!

Your tank is waterlogged and you are buying cheap pumps. Get a good bladder tank, a good pump and a Cycle Stop Valve and your troubles will be over.
