    Default Roman Tub Spout Leaking

Hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have a deck mounted roman tub slide on spout from Moen. Problem is the water supply shank coming up through the deck is to short to pass through the rubber O-ring. Is there anyway to extend the shank without replacing the inverter assembly below the tub?

Any guidance would greatly be appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,

I was just curious as to whether or not you were able to fix this problem. I am having a similar issue and not quite sure what to do. Any suggestions are very welcomed!

    Thank you,
    Tammy

    Hi all,

I've read through 14+ pages using the search function and this is the only thread that really applies to my current situation...the pipe is too short to get past the rubber washer inside my new roman style Moen faucet. Is there a copper fitting that would fit inside 1/2'' pipe but have the right diameter after that for the faucet? This seems to be 'like' what I would need http://www.plumbingsupply.com/images...ling-075x6.jpg. OR do I have to do something far more involved under the tub to extend this pipe? Any help would be much appreciated!
    Ray

Edit: found this...I don't think it would work, but is there something like this that would...like a shark bite 'extension': http://www.amazon.com/Sharkbite-Fitt.../dp/B0012BINNC
