Will be installing a soaking tub with Grohe Seabury roman tub filler and attached hand shower. There seems to be some disagreement as to whether a pressure balance (or thermostatic) valve is required due to the hand shower. I know the AHJ will have final say, but what do you all think? Grohe does make a thermostatic version but it is nearly 2x the cost (and we think ugly to boot). If some type of protection is required, does anyone make a scald protection device that will go just on the line to the hand shower (that stops flow >120F for example).
Thanks
George
