Just finished tub and shower remodel. When i went to install shower valve estucean and handle there is a larger gap between handle and cover than i think there should be ( about 1.5 - 2 inch ). I am not sure if this is correct or do I need to put the plastic back on valve first. The valve is a moen. I hope this makes sense.
Thanks for the help, doug

The distance from the handle to the round trim plate varies depending on how far the valve was installed in the wall. As long as you have the "stop" tube around the brass barrel so it shows between the ring and the handle you have it assembled correctly.
