After no water for 2 months, we recently have had a new well dug, and put in.

We have (now) a new submersible pump and deep well. However, through all the hardship of those months, we are starting once again to have problems with our water. For the past month, our new well and set up is starting to randomly cut off water. It will be at full power, and suddenly it will trickle out and a few moments later stop all together. In normal cases, a few hours later it will suddenly turn back on, as if it never had an issue.

We have been dealing with this problem as best we could, however now our water has been out for 2-3 days. Last night it suddenly had a small but consistent trickle for about 2 hours and then stopped.

I have no idea where to start looking now, any suggestions will be loved.

If the new well and pump were put in by a professional, you should be calling the professional, and he should diagnose the problem as part of his responsibility for the well and system.

We need a lot more information here to help you. What kind of well (drilled, dug, or point; deep or shallow; depth), what kind of pump, what kind and size of tank?

This is an indication of the tank going all the way to dry, bladder tanks don't slow down, they just quit. Sooo it could be the pressure switch not telling the pump to turn on, or a bad wiring connection, or the well running dry.

Gone without water 2-3 days? Call a pumpman. A consistent trickle doesn't fit with a bad pressure switch, sounds like a bad pump, but without more information we can't help you.

Your problem has nothjing to do with the pressure switch or pressure tank.

When you have a trickle, shut off the power to the pump. Wait 15-30 minutes and turn it on and see how long you have water. If it happens again, shut off the power to the pump. Then start water conservation and get the guys that installed the pump to check out the system before you ruin the pump etc..
