ANATOMY of the IDEAL TOILET

We are on the process of remodelling the bathroom.
The house is suited where nature and animal is just around your house. So the idea of a Nature-friendly house is also in mind.
So when it comes to toilet... an ideal toilet should be:

1. Dual Flush -so its a water saver
2. One piece - So its easier to clean; does not hide the dirt in the crevices between the tank & bowl
3. Elongated - so for household with men using it... its less messy to "Aim"
4. Does not use electricity - there are high efficiency toilet but they use low voltage to perform well
5. Have a high Maximum Performance Rating (MaP) Report as independently tested by Veritec
http://www.veritec.ca/mid.php?top=6&option=7&img=5

6. Low profile - I have never seen a dual flush that is low profile... Low profile means the tank has a "short" height which translates to more spacious bathroom
7. Fairly priced -

There are many toilet manufacturers ...
Caroma, kohler, gerber, vitra, american standard, zurn, mansfield, vortens

BUT there seems to be NO makers of Dual Flush One piece toilet. Are there:confused:

Caroma makes a dual flush one-piece regular bowl toilet.

Toto makes the Aquia two-piece in elongated, that looks very much like a one-piece.

Both of these have fairly high tanks.
It's going to be hard to find a low tank dual flush. The lower the tank, the worse it flushes.
You can't get good "scores" with a low tank, unless you go with pressure assist tanks.
And at this point, that moves you back to a tank and bowl, bolted together.

Fairly priced?
That's good. Most product out there is fairly priced.

Toto has a 1pc Ada Dual-Flush toilet it's called the " Ryohan" it's a line they are calling the "Zen" line with matching basin and bamboo looking Eco-powered faucet.
Now the basin and faucet is available right now but the toilet it reported to be coming out next year or sooner.
You can see a picture of it here.

That is a good find Peanut9199... Kohler has one piece elongated low profile dual flush which is the San Raphael but is $900+... I will rather remodel the whole room than buy a single toilet with that price.

Any idea on the price range of the Ryohan:confused: ?

No it hasn't been released to North America yet.
Probably won't be until the end of this year at the earliest.

That is also a good choice if you have a 6" deep wall or have the room to bring the wall forward.

in-wall Geberit carrier, with dual flush actuator. Catalano Zero bowl, on it. Based on your criteria.

david

The Geberit carrier at a price of 3600 is really more of a luxury.

Somebody has an assistant making mistakes in his or her internet searching. That carrier has never cost that much. (Fire your assistant and do your own research?)

two years ago when the Canadian dollar was low compared to the US dollar, I got a bowl for $325 CAD (325 Canadian dollars). Combine that with the low cost of the Geberit carrier and you are in the money.

That was a good link... How about its performance?
I looked at an independent joint testing done by USA and Canada. Duravit was not in the study for some reason. I can't find a website with a picture of it also

https://www.map-testing.com/

There are other testings done also which involves use of toilet paper, miso paste etc to test the performance of the toilet

Does Duravit have any performance testing or review to compare it to other brands?

How much does the Toto Ryohan sell in Japan?
(This way it can be projected how much it will sell in US and if it is worth the wait)

Does anyone have seen the difference between the Caroma #1, and #2 below... Because there seems to be an error in the Map rating report because the #1 Caroma below does not show in the Caroma website?
