Framing Limitations / DWV

Hello,

This is a basic question, but I am getting conflicting answers from my research..

Is it okay to run a 2" pvc line in a 2x4 wall? I'll need to drill out about 2.5" in the middle. The wall is not load-bearing.

Yes, but some inspectors would want you to reinforce the stud with a "shoe" that fits over the 2x4 and around the pipe opening.
