There are plenty of auto salvage yards but are there salvage yards for home supplies? Anyone know of a website that lists them? I got the idea after watching people salvaging things out of a few houses being demoed in my area.
Thanks!

Ohio. I found this site which is helpful.

Habitat for Humanity has started taking an interest in unused surplus supplies. I don't know of any organized effort to reuse used stuff.

There is a pretty good site for recycling. It works by emails, you can digest them, if need be. Check it out:
I think this would work:
www.freecycle@yahoogroups.com
It that link doesn't work, check around yahoo. You can post wanted ads, or offer/post things, in just your area.
Funny you should mention Freecycle, Cookie, I am the group owner/moderator of my county's group.... http://groups.yahoo.com/group/LCFreecycle/
The official website is www.freecycle.org
I heard about a place nearby that has a lot of surplus and salvaged lumber. Gonna check them out soon.
I really think it is a great service. I tell people all the time about it.
You got a great site, nice work.

Thanks Cookie!
Check in your area for the local Habitat for Humanity Re-Store. I've gotten some amazing deals here in SW Michigan.
