I'm looking at putting a toilet in the basement. The sewer line is buried 6" below basment concrete floor and passes about a foot from the preferred toilet location. Is 6" below the floor deep enough? Is the sewer line being so close ( a foot) to the toilet a problem?

My guess was that I would have to crack open the concrete floor, cut a wye into the main sewer and run the foot or so over to a flange fitting. Does this make sense?

Thanks
Tom

You'll also need to run a vent line...but I think you have enough room. I'm not a pro, though.
