Hmm... can't imagine why he can't use other means...but I'm sure you can get them at a "real" plumbing supply house....one of the bigger ones.

Do these exist in Brass? My Plumber has requested them to patch into galvanized pipe.

yep though its not something you're likely to find from Homer or Low*s. A plumbing supply house is where to look.
Cast brass fittings are available, (Nibco #900 series), but are not usually a stock item. Wrought copper ones are the most commonly used version.
