Hello,
I am going to put a powder room in my garage. I have a cast iron soil stack the runs the entire length of the garage. I am trying to figure out if the lav and toilet need to be vented. I was told that I may be able to use a AAV. Does anyone know if an AAV is legal in NJ?

I have attached pictures of what I plan to do. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

AAV in New Jersey

You can NOT use an AAV in New Jersey. The only way an AAV can be used in new Jersey is if it's part of an approved engineered system.

The code we have to go by would not allow the tee from the sink to be on it's back. You would have to use a wye with a 45 or a combination.
