Well, I knew I could re-route my gas line by myself but I have an adult music student who is a plumber and we agreed to exchange music lessons for plumbing help. So, we moved my range across the kitchen and did the gas plumbing. I learned a few things:

-even a guy who has been plumbing for 35 years cusses like a sailor when things don't go exactly right.
-a pipe threader is the coolest damn gadget ever invented. For plumbing anyway.
-you can never have too much teflon tape on hand.
-mount plumbing up high in the 18" crawl space so future plumbers can get in there to work
-don't let yourself get too chubby to slide under the girders. :) not me.
-plumbing may not be brain surgery, but it sure is hard work. $70 an hour, what a deal!

Naybe so, but I have never seen it make things go any better.

At least when it has a power cord attached to it.

My opinion is that for steel pipe, any amount of Teflon tape is too much.

If only electricians would learn that same thing.

The "sterotypic" plumber would not fit either.

Cheap for a licensed contractor. Expensive for a moonlighter.
