I have galvanized pipe coming off my shower drain running through my garage. It has begun to leak from time to time around one of the joints. I don't want to replace the pipe at this time. Are there stop gap things I can do like marine epoxy?

Rectorseal ( and probably others) make a fibreglas pipe repair wrap kit. Available at the depot, plumbing supply, etc. It looks like a bandaid, and it is. Please don't think that you are out of the woods. This pipe may be ready to leak all over. But it will buy you some time. I infer that this pipe is out in the open? I would not do this on a pipe which will be covered back up by finished walls.
