I have an area in my basement that is stubbed for a bathroom. I have finally figured out what all of the pipes are for (configuration, etc...).

My problem is that the shower drain is in the middle of a concrte block which is sunk into the concrete slab; except for about 2" that sticks up above the floor surface. Somewhat semi-recessed. Can anyone PLESE shed some light on this for me?

Many thanks, ROLL TIDE!!!!

Might have been that plumbers way of making it easier to chip around it for moving it if required...
I am not sure - a pic would help a bit...
