I have a question. When I go on vacation for a week some have said I should shut my water off at the main and relieve the pressure still others say that is not a good idea and I will get leaks when I reapply pressure to the pipes after that amount of time?

Any thoughts?

Also if I do shut the water off I need to turn power off to water heater? Tunr Ice maker off?

What about the water softner turn it off also?

I do have someone come over once ever day or two to check on my cats.

Thanks for any input.

One more question I have a small leak were my main "PVC" screws into my pressure reducer only about one drop ever 6 hours from the threads will I need to fix this or will it seal itself been about 4 days dont want to have to take time off again to sit with plumber.
