I bought a Jacuzzi brand whirlpool tub and it has foam support blocks attached to the bottom. I'm leary of these blocks and would rather use mortar for a solid base. Anyone have experience with these blocks and how well they hold up without mortar?

the best foams are rigid and strong beyond belief

... and they are not at all like what we all think of as foam, that we see all around us.

if you could call the manufacturer's tech support number and get from them the description of the foam, you'll get more comments from me.

i have not seen that firm's tub feet.

The foam on the Jaccuzzi tub is very solid.
I have foamed to them before, and I have used the mortar.
One way to use the mortar, would be to lay some thin plastic sheet between the two, that way you can lift up on the tub later if needed.
