If it gets a good coat of primer and semi-gloss paint you should have no problem. In any high moisture area the moisture resistant drywall is recommended and it should be 1/4" off the floor to prevent it from wicking moisture/water from the floor.

Have alcove type tub/shower installation in a 5'x11' bathroom. Used concrete wallboard for the 3 sides of the alcove area of tub/shower extending just slightly beyond the depth of the tub and up to the ceiling.
The ceiling is not water resistant wall board. Is this OK?
The other question is: do I need to use water resistant wallboard for the rest of the walls or can I just go with regular drywall?
Thanks, JM
