Thanks for all the input. Jim, I'll add the sleeve. I have a dishwasher to install in a few days, so I'll be under there again.

Yeah, I actually have one. In all the excitement of putting it together, I failed to use it.
The triple 3/8 tee is what I ended up doing. I'm just concerned about the PEX compression fitting holding. I used a nylon ring, properly installed. I suppose it's no worse than the line going to...
18026 This is what was provided.
18027 This is what I have. It fit my new Delta faucet perfectly. I can add a splitter to the top of the shutoff valve to connect my faucet and the water filter.
Do I sense an impending qualifying statement, or am I reading too much into the trailing periods?
Hi folks. I just moved to Tennessee from Michigan. I'm installing an under sink water filter. It's a unit that uses 3/8" PEX on both ends. The connection piece that they gave me to connect to my...
Plumber is coming tomorrow. I am an educated consumer, thanks to you folks.:)

It leaks.
Since I can now see where it will leak if it is going to leak, I've decided to put it all together to see if it does leak.
HJ, are you suggesting that the pipe as it is will continue to function as a leak proof drain for a new sink? I would love for that to be true.

Here is the original set up. This is in a basement. The only "vent" to speak of is the drain pipe (on the left) for the kitchen sink directly up stairs. It is what it is.
Thanks, cacher_chick!
Here is an 18 second video of me moving the pipe. Any new insights from this? There is some slight movement in the hub in addition to the rotation of the pipe.

Progress.
I'm using a hammer and chisel. Now I'm afraid of damaging the iron
I think I'm about 6" down. I see a seam, so I think I'm down to iron.

Ha. I don't think I'll live long enough for breaking concrete to ever be trivial to me.:)
The house was constructed in 1961. One of the plumbers I talked to is fairly sure it is a galvanized pipe leaded into an iron hub. Neither of the two plumbers I have contacted sees a way to fix...
Well, the first plumber to visit says concrete has to come out.:(
Thanks, Gary. What you have suggested is what I suspected.
Hi folks,
I'm replacing a leaky concrete laundry tub and I've run into a drain problem. As I was attempting to loosen the elbow joint from the vertical pipe coming out of the floor, the pipe...
That's a useful link - thanks!
I have removed ivy from a 2 story brick house before. I find that the ivy is easier to remove while it is still alive. dead ivy gets hard and brittle.
I just got some leather gloves and started...
I'm pretty satisfied with the way my well water tastes coming out of my under-sink filter. But I know that taste alone is not a good indicator of actual water quality.
What's the best way to go...
Update: The Lochinvar was online by lunch time yesterday. There was plenty of hot water for evening showers. Thanks again to all who contribute to this forum!
