Actually, the Drake has 1-1/8" and the Drake II has 1-1/4" ... not sure why there's a difference. The Drake II has a different shaped tank, too ... nicer looking toilet all around!

Thanks, Jim ... looks like the Drake II has a full 1-1/4" behind the tank ... makes the decision pretty easy! :)
Geez, I hate to do this to you all ... I just stumbled across the Drake II with Sanagloss ... I like it very much ... how does it perform?
Thanks for the input, TTG! I think it is an Ultramax II for us! The wife likes the "no rim" idea. I guess I'll report back with our findings, once we have a chance to evaluate it.
Terry, I'd...
Terry, thanks for the response; however, I have a new dilemma.
The wife just got back from the neighbor's house and they are looking at the Ultramax II with Sanagloss ... Holy Smokes! Can you...
I purchased a 1.6l Drake with Sanagloss a couple of days ago, but I got a call today that it is out of stock and will not be available for 4-6 weeks, so the salesman gave me a couple of options:
...
Thanks for the responses.
For simplicity we decided to go with the Thermobalance II. We haven't used it yet, since I am still working on the tile, but hope that it suits our needs. The wife...
Finally ready for drywall ... I've got three 3" round electrical boxes (oxymoron :D) to mount for the vanity lights, but I'm going to use the type that mount in the drywall, so I can place them after...
John, yes, the walls terminate at 76"; I'm trying to keep the room open feeling. What you can't see from the photograph is I have opened up the ceiling and vaulted it to 14'. I will be adding a...
Glad to hear I don't have to tear that out, LOL!
I secured it to the partitions on both sides. I drove 4 x 16d nails into each side and left them sticking out half way; I thought that would be sufficient ... don't you think?
Okay, it's fixed ... not to mention, I spent a little more time on framing in the plumbing. I poured a curb out of concrete, which I think is going to work out for the best. Tomorrow; finish the...
Point taken ... does this make you happy?

I'll put it back together tomorrow ... thanks for your input!
Thanks guys!
I agree, hj, it would have been better doing that, but I am done breaking out concrete ... I just couldn't bring myself to do it!
Funny you should mention that ... yes, I did join that forum in preparation for what is to come ... and I'll be buying the book, too.
As for the pressure treated and Kerdi; I was planning...
No offense taken, I know where you are coming from and I appreciate the input.
Thanks for the tip on the plywood/Kerdi combo. I guess I'll have to get something to protect the pipes and drywall...
All that old copper is secured behind the 2x4s. I didn't sweat a bunch of shorter pieces together, the joints were already in the pieces ... why waste perfectly good copper that will never be seen...
I couldn't wait, so I went ahead and installed it.
I researched and read that it doesn't matter what angle the trap is set at, since water doesn't know what direction it has travelled, once it...
Well, I got the plumbing pretty much finished. Here are a couple of pics ... any comments before I forge forward?

No, I'm not selling the house ... I'll probably die here. The kids will get it, someday, and they can deal with any issues then, LOL!
I am making sure everything is acceptable under the code...
This is existing. The shower drain runs directly to the 3" stack (36") without any vent. I believe it doesn't need any additional venting ... and if it does, I wouldn't know why, since it works...
The line travels directly to the 3" stack.
I believe you're allowed 135 degrees change of direction ... I'm not sure how many degrees would be considered in this run.
I'm installing a...
This is what I've got. Where the lines on the floor intersect, is where the center of the drain needs to be:

Thanks for your responses. I am in the midst of plumbing the valve and union. I'll update the thread once I get to the finishing of the plumbing fixtures ... maybe it'll help the next guy out.
I am installing a Hansgrohe Thermobalance II shower valve to control a shower head and handheld shower. Can someone explain a straight forward way of plumbing the wall union (elbow, as I've also...
