Any problems with installing soldered shutoffs behind a wall? Am moving lots of plumbing upstairs with a tenant living in basement, and this would be the least disruptive course of action.

As long as you have access to them it should be OK.

So it's the same concept as electrical: No hidden J-boxes. Understandable.
If that's the case then I'll go with temporary shutoffs. Once the piping is built, I'll remove shutoffs and replace with solder + couplings, etc.
